Rosswood is a beautiful rural community of about 150 residents. It is located on the northern tip of the stunning, emerald Kalum Lake, 37 kilometers north of Terrace, British Columbia, on the Nisga’a Highway 113. Being unincorporated, Rosswood has no administration. It is affiliated with Terrace and is included in Area C of the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine.
Cell phone coverage has not yet reached our valley, internet is available via satellite.
The approximatly 30 children are either homeschooled or bussed to Terrace.
The Rosswood Community Association was formed in the early 80s to provide assistance in solving issues pertinent to our community and to provide facilities that enhance and promote our social life.
Our funding comes from the rental of our community hall and grounds, membership fees, grants, raffles, and other fundraising events such as our summer pancake breakfast and garage sales and our markets.
The RCA board consists of a chair, a vice-chair, the treasurer, a secretary and a number of directors, elected at an annual election. Anybody from Rosswood can become a member.
Located right on the highway and open 7 days a week, the locally owned and operated store is an important part of Rosswood. It features a great variety of everyday essentials and a nice selection of specialty items, including fireworks which are available all year round!
